Our Team

Jeffery Merry founded the Business House over ten (10) years ago. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Mercer University, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, and a Juris Doctorate from Atlanta Law School. Jeffery is also a licensed real estate agent in Georgia and Florida, a Senior Business Analyst and a Certified Business Counselor. Further, he is a Professor of strategic management, accounting and finance in MBA programs.

Jeffery is a ten (10) year member of the Georgia Association of Business Brokers. He served as President for the years 2001 and 2002. Additionally, he is a lifetime member of GABB's prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Club, for the years of 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. Jeffery is a member of Nation-List International, a nationally based business listing service, and Business Evaluation Service. He is also registered with the Better Business Bureau of Atlanta.

Jeffery has consulted with local companies, taking them from privately owned to publicly owned and traded on the OTC stock exchange. He also used his skills to assist one of the companies in acquiring nine (9) smaller independent companies.

Prior to founding the Business House, Jeffery spent almost seventeen (17) years in corporate America as an employee of a Fortune 100 companies. His responsibilities included sales, sales management, consulting, and mergers and acquisitions. In these capacities he received many awards for excellence and meeting high performance goals, including National Sales Awards.

Jeffery has grown the Business House into one of the most successful business brokerage firms in Georgia. He provides personal attention and supervision to each business transaction handled by the Business House.

As a Business Intermediary Jeffery has been involved in over 150 mergers and acquisitions that have ranged in acquisition price from $60,000.00 to over $5,000,000.00. Jeffery specializes in serving the manufacturing and distribution industry, the service and construction industry and the consumer products industry.

Josh Merry joined the family business in 2005 after completing his MBA at Brenau University.  Josh is a Certified Business Intermediary through the International Business Brokerage Administration and is a licensed Real Estate Agent in Georgia. 

Serving the manufacturing and distribution industry, the service and construction industry, and the consumer products industry, he has been involved in numerous small to midsize transactions ranging from $300K to $1M.

While in college Josh earned National Collegiate Athletic Association Academic All American status and was two-year captain of the collegiate wrestling team.

Other community involvement includes active involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, Church, the Lanier Athletic Association as a baseball/wrestling official, Costal Athletic Association as a collegiate wrestling referee, and a lay high school wrestling coach at Riverside Military Academy.

Dana Chitwood has been with the company since 2002 and brings a great deal of expertise to the business.  Administratively, Dana manages the office on a day-to-day basis; further, she manages buyers, coordinates with sellers to develop business analysis on available companies for circulation to prospective buyers, and manages the company's web listings, invoicing, advertising and scheduling.  With an educational concentration in Computer Science, Dana is fluent in a variety of software packages including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks and ACT database management.

Past experiences include over fifteen years in research, development, senior administrative and direct interface contact with customers.  As well as over seven years experience in outside sales with a major clothing manufacturing company where she received numerous sales awards and commendations of excellence including nomination to the Leadership 2000 Board for the company.

Molly Scott  joined the Business House in 2008 and brings 15+ years of practical experience in operations, corporate education, and corporate sales.  Molly is the former Area Sales Director for Owens & Minor, a Fortune 500 company that is the nation's leading distributor of national brand-name medical/surgical supplies to hospitals and integrated healthcare systems.
Molly is a nationally recognized facilitator and key note speaker.  She has developed and delivered customized financial, sales process, coaching, negotiation skills, and reinforcement training to Fortune 500 companies including Bank of America, Black & Decker, Newell Rubbermaid, Georgia Pacific, Georgia Power, McKesson, TeleTech, and the United States Postal Service.

Malon Metz brings a wealth of experience to the business.  After attending the University of Maryland as a Business Major, Malon started a new business in the Washington, DC marketplace.  He owned and operated three business ventures ranging from a complete start-up to franchise businesses.  He has past experience in the business brokerage field and has also worked in Corporate America as a very successful professional sales and sales management executive primarily in the computer software and hardware market.  His successes include taking a very unsuccessful sales team and turning it into one of the top sales organizations in its field. 

Malon spends his spare time as an avid woodworker, golfer, motorcyclist and volunteers in a wide variety of different venues in the Atlanta Metro Area.
